The L House

Bukit TimahSingapore
2000-2003900sqm

In abstracting villa program for a traditional patriarchal multi-tiered family, the household is designed as a subliminal panopticon wherein the master of the house safeguards his children.

An overtone rides above this however, as the matriarch centres the kitchen as the heart of the house. It is in this space that the architecture hinges upon, where all events take place with the celebration of cooking. The open kitchen format encourages conversations with the family throughout the day, welcoming everyone and guests alike to the table.
