Kunming Brand Gallery

KunmingChina
2014-15000sqm

Conceptualized to echo the experience of a resort, the architectural layout of the brand gallery abstracts traditional planning, massing and elements of the Yunnan vernacular into a contemporary classic.

The complex comprises of a series of pavilions located in a park for which a landscape narrative is orchestrated and intertwined with its architectural spaces. The notion of the seven colours of Yunnan is translated into a layered sequence of scenography that reminds one of the many characteristic landscapes evident in the southern province. From the famed plateaus of Shangri-la to the ancient villages and water channels in Lijiang, these embedded memories surface to form the numerous differing spatial dynamics in the gallery park.

Spaces are designed to flow seamlessly from interiors to its outdoors wherein guest reception and engagement takes priority in creating a sensory experience – one that is memorable, emotional and rational all at once.
